Founded in downtown Asheville in 2010 as Good Flow Productions, the studio began as a collaborative creative hub supporting the parallel development of public access television programming and original audio production. As the project evolved, the focus shifted fully toward recording and music production, while its core mission remained unchanged: fostering artistic collaboration, strengthening creative communities, and helping great ideas find their fullest expression.

Under the stewardship of musician and producer Anthony Dorion, Good Flow Recording became a trusted home for independent artists across genres, facilitating the creation of more than 200 original recordings while cultivating a network of musicians, engineers, songwriters, and performers whose paths continually intersected through shared projects and mutual support.

In 2021, the studio expanded to Erwin, Tennessee, embracing a live-work recording environment designed to offer artists a focused, welcoming space that feels more like a home than a commercial facility. By 2024, all operations were consolidated in Erwin, deepening the studio's commitment to regional community building and arts-driven economic development.

That commitment helped lead to one of the area's most ambitious cultural revitalization efforts: the restoration of a long-vacant downtown theater into Capitol Hall, a world-class concert venue and movie house that reopened in April 2026. Today, Good Flow Recording continues to serve artists throughout Appalachia and beyond, combining professional production, creative partnership, and a belief that thriving music scenes are built through collaboration.
